DOCTOR
PHILOSOPHY
"It's no secret that the ambulatory farm veterinarian is disappearing fast. Farm vets are critical for ensuring our food is raised responsibly and humanely, for controlling emerging zoonotic diseases, and for solving problems from an on-farm, herd-wide perspective - standing alongside the farmer.
Every region struggles with veterinary coverage for farm animals, from the large producer to the backyard hobbyist. More and more of us large animal veterinarians are left standing alone, with our practices spaced further apart than ever before. We need to start thinking of each other as members of a larger team.

My goal with this venture is to start filling in some of those gaps. I want to arm the small-scale homesteader with all the knowledge he or she needs to start off strong and keep growing. I want to travel to places that lack veterinary coverage and teach strong preventative medicine to producers. I want them to walk away from workshops feeling empowered to take the wellness of their farm into their own hands and be as proactive as possible. I want to be there for my colleague who may usually see cats and dogs, but is ready to take that odd goat or duck appointment.

Let me know what I can do for you and your agricultural community."
